How to Add an AI Chatbot to a GoHighLevel Site

To add an AI chatbot to a GoHighLevel website or funnel, copy the chatbot's embed code, open the website or funnel under Sites, go to its Settings tab, paste the code into the Body tracking code field, and click Save. That loads the chatbot on every page of that site or funnel. For a single page, use that page's Footer Tracking instead.
Agencies running client sites on GoHighLevel often want an AI chatbot that answers questions from the client's own content. Here's how to install one alongside your existing setup.

Before you start
You'll need:
- Access to the client's sub-account in GoHighLevel
- The chatbot's embed code, usually a single
<script>line. In Proxxie, open the chatbot, go to the Embed Code tab and click Copy Code.
Option 1: Every page of a website or funnel (recommended)
- In the client's sub-account, go to Sites.
- Open Websites or Funnels and select the website or funnel.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Paste the embed code into the Body tracking code field (not the Head tracking code field).
- Click Save.
Body placement lets the page content load first, so the chatbot doesn't slow down what visitors see.
Option 2: A single page only
- Open the page (or funnel step) in the GoHighLevel builder.
- Click the Tracking Code option.
- Paste the embed code into Footer Tracking.
- Click Save, and publish the page if it has other unpublished changes.
Use this when a chatbot should appear only on specific pages, such as a landing page for one service. You can also drop a Code element onto the page and paste the script there, but keep the <script> tag on its own: GoHighLevel's builder doesn't run a script placed inside a <div>.
Test it
Open the live site in a private or incognito window. Look for the chat bubble (usually bottom-right), open it, and ask a few real customer questions.
Troubleshooting
The chat bubble doesn't show.
- Make sure you clicked Save (and published the page, if it had unpublished changes).
- Check you pasted the complete code.
- Test the live domain, not the builder preview.
- Don't look for the code in View Page Source: GoHighLevel adds tracking code in the browser, so it won't appear there even when it's working.
- If you copied a page or funnel step, add the code again. Page-level tracking code isn't copied with the page.
Two chat widgets appear. If the site already runs GoHighLevel's own chat widget, both may show in the same corner. Decide which one each site should use, or position them so they don't overlap. In Proxxie, the Widget placement settings on the Embed Code tab let you switch to the bottom left or change the distance from the bottom and side; copy the code again afterwards and replace the old one.
It only appears on some pages. Option 1 applies to one website or funnel at a time. Add the code to each site or funnel you want covered.
GoHighLevel's chat vs. an AI chatbot

Does this work on GoHighLevel funnels and websites?
Yes. Both have a Settings tab with site-wide tracking code fields, and each page or funnel step has its own Footer Tracking.
Will visitor contact details go into GoHighLevel automatically?
Not with Proxxie. It doesn't connect to GoHighLevel directly: each lead's name and email is saved in Proxxie's Leads page, and you get a lead alert by email, so you can add them to GoHighLevel yourself. Other chatbots may differ, so check their features.
Can I use a different chatbot for each client?
Yes. Each client's site gets its own embed code.
Does it work with custom domains?
Yes. The code runs on whatever domain the GoHighLevel site is published to.
